Linda Kay (Turner) Oliver, passed away Thursday January 7, 2010 at 5:25 a.m., in La Quinta, CA after loosing her battle to lung cancer. She was 51 years old.
She was born on May 7, 1958 in Wichita to Jack and Marian Turner. Linda grew up in Derby and graduated from Derby High School where she was Editor of the school paper, a member of the Thespian program for the drama department, and a part of her High School choir that toured Europe.
Linda met her husband, Jim Oliver, in Wichita. They were married in 1991.
Linda was dedicated to helping others and raising the people whom she held most dear, her children. Linda loved to garden, dance, and volunteer at her children's schools. She was an avid soccer mom and an amazing writer. She was loved by many, cherished by many, befriended by many and will be loved and missed by many.
She is survived by her husband, James Oliver; her three daughters, Gretel Anne Turner, Elisabeth Marian-Frances Oliver, and Katherine Faye Oliver; and her son, Benjamin James Oliver; father, Jack Turner; sister, Sally Turner Unruh; and brothers, Frank Turner, Stephen Turner and David Turner.
A memorial graveside will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Czechoslovakian Cemetery, Caldwell, Kansas. Fr. Kyle Fisher will officiate.
