Lawrence Huddleston

November 23, 1945 ~ July 11, 2018

Lawrence (Larry) Huddleston, 72, of South Haven, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in Haysville, Kansas.  He was born to Francis and Lela (Mantooth) Huddleston in Wellington, Kansas on November 23, 1945.   He was raised on the farm west of South Haven where he attended elementary and high school.  In his early years, he found a love of music which lasted through his life.

Helen M. Jenista

October 29, 1916 ~ August 19, 2018

Helen Margaret Jenista, 101, passed away August 19, 2018 at the Caldwell Hospital Sunflower Cottage where she resided.

She was born to John and Rose Conrady Ciskowski on October 29, 1916 in Clyde OK.  She was the second of six girls.

She married Alvin J. Jenista on February 9, 1937.  To this union two daughters were born, Judy Roberts and Arlene Terrell.

Reba Janzen

April 11, 1934 ~ August 4, 2018

Reba Ann Prophet Janzen, 84, passed away on August 4, 2018 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center in Wichita, Kansas.  She was born on April 11, 1934 in Perry, Oklahoma to Alfred and Louise Prophet.  She graduated from Caldwell High School in 1952.  After graduation she worked at the Port Café where she met her future husband Melvin “Swede” Janzen.  They were married on November 6, 1955 at the First Presbyterian Church in Caldwell, Kansas.  From their union, two children, Jeffrey Lee and Andrew Shane, were born. 

Duane Scribner

February 1, 1923 ~ August 1, 2018

Alfred Duane Scribner was born the second son to William Joseph and Lou Mae Hull Scribner on February 1, 1923, in Renfrow, Oklahoma.  He passed away peacefully at his home in Caldwell on August 1, 2018 at the age of 95. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Kenneth and grandson Chad.
